Our Story

Since long before the doors of Sidewalk Side Studio officially opened in October of 2018, the “Gallery Girls” have been heavy hitters in the art world. Owner Lindsey Roussel and her two Assistant Directors Anne Lipscomb & Rachael Noto spent 5 years together doing custom frame work at Magazine Street Framing. They spent their time working hard in the frame shop, making art & dreaming of the day they could open their own studio. Now that the dream has become reality not much has changed. You can still find all three of them hard at work (and cutting up) 6 days a week at the gallery.

“Now - after so many long and loving hours spent working on this gallery - I can’t tell you how good it feels to know that we got it exactly right. It’s a perfect representation of who we are as both artists and trusted sellers of Fine Art. These Girls are my family. I couldn’t have done any of this without them.”
-Lindsey

Lindsey

Lindsey Roussel is the owner and Gallery Director of Sidewalk Side Studio. She graduated from UNO with a BFA in photography, and quickly put her skills to use by opening Magazine Street Framing. She honed her artistic eye as Director of Guy Lyman Fine Art for 8 years, all the while producing art of her own.

Her latest photo show “Sad Bikes” was incredibly well received and set a gallery record of selling 15 pieces in one day. Currently she is getting back to her painterly roots by making pieces with large color fields and various types of poured paint methods.

“Photography will always be my true love, but sometimes you have to embrace the chaos and create what feels right in the moment.” -L.
